Andy is the flugelhorn soloist with the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band (stars of Brassed off), National champions 2006/2007 and current double English champions. He has previously held the principal cornet seat in Hepworth and Sellers as well as winning the European and Open titles with Black Dyke Band on repiano. Andy has been featured as a soloist on recordings and concerts across Europe with Grimethope and is in great demand as a guest soloist.  After gaining his BMus(hons) degree from the University of Huddersfield, Andy now works as a visiting music teacher for Newcastle music service. Although Andy specialises in the flugelhorn, he regularly guests for bands and orchestras on cornet and trumpet. Andy is an endorsing artist for Eclipse musical instruments and plays the Eclipse flugelhorn exclusively.
